About a shadowrun someone told him about once. This story goes back and forth through time more than Doctor Who, Captain Kirk, and H.G. Wells meeting in the Time Tunnel. 4 local runners and two guys flown in from Seattle meet in the Sixth World's Third World hellhole of Lagos for their most important mission ever. Find three boxes and deliver them to....the other side of town. Yes, this is Shadowrun: The Fed Ex Chronicles. The story telling style made me want to pull out an Ares Predator IV and make him get to the fracking point!Sorry, just had to get that said. Seriously though, the writing style annoyed me terribly, the runners failed to spark any interest in me, and the mission was, honestly, dull as mud. IMO, if you are looking for a great new Shadowrun novel, check out "Dark Resonance" and leave "Hell on Water" the hell alone.

Good story. Love Shadowrun and hope to see much more
My mistake. I should have read the reviews better. The writing style in this book is very annoying and I wasn't able to read more than 3 chapters before I had to give up. The characters aren't fleshed out, so I don't have any strong feeling on them.
Lagos is not often taken as stage of shadowruns it's even darker than Seatle grounds. mega corpos rivalery are mixed with african tribal rivalery. very great read !!!
Not as good as other Shadow run tales
The plot stinks.
To much filler. You get one good page for every 10.
This style of writing is hard to read.

Writing style is strange and unexpected. It has taken me quite awhile to finish and I was left feeling blah. Very predictable throughout with only minor twists here and there. The main story is fairly interesting but the read was irritating.
Probably my favorite Shadowrun novel. It combines a great location in Lagos with a unique narrative style. Definitely has the feel of someone trying to do something a bit different than the same old straight ahead RPG style novel. Recommended if you are looking for something a bit out of the ordinary.
